The forest of "El Cedro" is a true relic of the Tertiary and world reserve for the conservation of laurel. Thanks to the action of the sea of clouds (horizontal rain) the vegetation is very thick and we can find faille, heather, laurel and ferns. It is also being full of trails to hike, where we can learn firsthand of all the secrets of this ancient forest. In addition to Garajonay National Park, representing 33.3% of the total area of the island, La Gomera has 16 protected natural areas.
