Tijdens deze afwisselende autoreis ontdekt u het beste van de Kanaaleilanden en Zuid-Engeland. Met uw eigen auto reist u naar bijzondere plekken waar kustlandschappen, historie en sfeervolle steden elkaar afwisselen. Van rustige eilanden met een ontspannen karakter tot iconische Engelse steden: iedere bestemming heeft zijn eigen verhaal.

Uw reis begint op de prachtige Kanaaleilanden Jersey en Guernsey, waar Britse tradities en Franse invloeden samenkomen. Op Jersey, het grootste eiland, geniet u van een veelzijdig landschap met brede zandstranden, groene valleien en indrukwekkende kliffen. Maak een wandeling langs de spectaculaire kustpaden, ontdek het imposante Mont Orgueil Castle of duik in de bijzondere geschiedenis van het eiland tijdens een bezoek aan de Jersey War Tunnels. About the destination: "Bath is a city in Somerset, South West England. In 2011, its population was 88,859. It became part of Avon in 1974; since Avon's abolition in 1996, it has been the principal centre of Bath and North East Somerset. The city, in the valley of the River Avon, became a World Heritage Site in 1987. To visitors Bath is a pretty complete Georgian city with an awful lot of the architecture intact, much of the city remained intact and most of what was bombed was rebuilt. Therefore, Bath is one of the most architecturally pleasing cities North of the Alps. Some the most importants places to see at the city are: • Roman Baths. Built by the Romans around 2000 years ago, and later rediscovered by the Victorians, the Roman Baths are the must-see tourist attraction in Bath. The baths are fuelled by England's only mineral hot springs. You can wander the rooms that made up the baths, including the large open air 'Great Bath', see Roman medieval and Georgian architecture, and learn about the history of Bath Spa. • Bath Abbey. The last Gothic church in England, started in 1499 and built on the ruins of the former Norman cathedral, this impressively large church (of small cathedral proportions) is located next to the Roman Baths. A wonderful view of Bath can be had with a trip up the Abbey tower. • The Royal Crescent, a magnificent semi-eliptical crescent of houses designed by John Wood and completed in 1774. This was the first of Bath's eight crescents, and its shape remains unique. You can visit one of the houses which has been redecorated to resemble what it would have been like at the end of the 18th century. • Sion Hill - Wealthy neighbourhood in the upper part of the city that makes for a pleasant stroll. Attractive Bath stone buildings. • Bath's parks are ideal for a summer picnic. Topless bathing used to be frowned upon but is becoming the norm as the regenerating city becomes more cosmopolitan. The Council maintains all parks to a high standard. Parks at the city are Parade Gardens, Victoria Park and Sydney Gardens."

About the destination: Harwich is a town in Essex, England and one of the Haven ports, located on the coast with the North Sea to the east. It is in the Tendring district. Nearby places include Felixstowe to the northeast, Ipswich to the northwest, Colchester to the southwest and Clacton-on-Sea to the south. It is the northernmost coastal town within Essex. Its position on the estuaries of the Stour and Orwell rivers and its usefulness to mariners as the only safe anchorage between the Thames and the Humber led to a long period of maritime significance, both civil and military. The town became a naval base in 1657 and was heavily fortified,[2] with Harwich Redoubt, Beacon Hill Battery, and Bath Side Battery. Harwich is the likely launch point of the Mayflower which carried English Puritans to North America, and is the presumed birthplace of Mayflower captain Christopher Jones. Harwich today is contiguous with Dovercourt and the two, along with Parkeston, are often referred to collectively as Harwich.
